Chalk Recipe
Supplies:
1 Cup Plaster of Paris
3/4 Cup Water
2 Tbsp Powdered Tempera Paint
Mold-Tissue Tubes, candy molds, ice cube trays
Bowl
Mixing Spoon
Measuring Cup
Directions:
1) Pour plaster of Paris into bowl
2)Slowly pour water into mix
3)Add in powdered tempera paint
4)Mix thoroughly and let stand
5)Pour mixture into molds and let dry overnight
*Drying time varies according to size of mold. can molds and ice trays will dry overnight.
While tissue tubes can take 72 hours or more.
Salt Dough Recipe
Supplies:
4 cups of flour
1/4 cup salt
1-2 cups of water
Measuring Cup
Bowl
Mixing Spoon
Directions:
1)Add the flour & salt together in a large bowl.
2)Slowly add 2 cups of water, Continue to add a small amount at a time until you achieve a non sticky but firm dough texture.
3)Mold and shape into fun animal, beads or small figures.
4)Bake in oven for approx. 45 minutes at 250 degree F. The length of baking time varies greatly depending on the size and thickness
of your dough piece, so watch and when the dough piece feels firm to touch it is done.
Tips-
-You can let air dry, it will take 2-6 days depending on thickness
-Add food coloring to dough mixture to make colored dough.
-Paint with craft paint after dough is completely dry.
-Seal with clear acrylic sealer.
